How did you get started in audio?

I started primarily through singing and later picked up the guitar. As far as production and recording, my first introductions were through video games that I used to play which were basically DAWs, like Mario Paint Composer, and also playing around with Windows Sound Recorder. Eventually, I joined a few bands, started writing music solo, and playing around with Reason, GarageBand, and Ableton. I discovered a lot of those mainly through friends who were creative and already playing with those programs.

What are you looking forward to working on next?

I've just been really happy to be creating again after a music hiatus. It's been a gift in so many ways, and I'm looking forward to creating more, but also sharing more, collaborating more, and learning more. I spent a lot of time writing last year, and now, luckily, I have several singles lined up to release this year. So that's very exciting for me.

What do you love about being an Omni member?

I recently realized there were a lot of ways I discount myself as a musician, particularly as a producer. Being in spaces that are for gender minorities like Omni Sound Project is what empowered me to realize I am qualified to produce music and learn things like mixing and audio engineering. With Omni Sound Project, I not only have access to workshops and challenges, but I'm also part of a supportive community, which, to me, at the end of the day, is what it's all about.
